Now onto the role.

We are looking for a technical professional to join us as Design Manager, preferably with a background in architectural technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch a fulfilling career within our dynamic company, working with established professionals who share a passion for the built environment and modernisation in construction.

The core task of this role is to manage Axter’s technical design workflows across our projects. You will work directly on a diverse range of highly innovative and thought-provoking schemes, designing flat roofs which are robustly waterproofed and insulated. These schemes will also have inbuilt resilience against the effects of climate change, with the potential to become multifunctional active spaces. You will be responsible for design standardisation and development throughout the company and accountable for all roof design processes including, but not exclusively, the continuing rollout of BIM protocols and Revit as a drawing tool.

This role provides access to technical upskilling and the chance to become a fully trained technological leader within the industry. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate with external 3D design specialists, plus the potential to sit on trade associations (GRO, NFRC) as a technical representative.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a recognised technical qualification in architecture and construction.
  • Be skilled in building information modelling (BIM) Revit software and have high levels of competency in AutoCAD.
  • Be willing to learn about all aspects of the flat roofing industry.
  • Help us in our mission to reshape the future of flat roof design.
  • Be prepared to learn about all aspects of the business and drive change.

The role is full time, permanent, with a competitive salary based on experience. If you’d like to find out more about this opportunity, please contact us at [email protected].
