Axter gets first CCPI verification for hot melt system Wilotekt Plus.
Axter is proud to announce that Wilotekt-Plus has received the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) verification, the first second generation hot melt structural waterproofing system to be verified.
As the construction industry adapts to a new and improved building safety regime set out in the Building Safety Act, the CCPI is playing a pivotal role in driving change and setting the highest standards in how product information is managed and communicated by the construction product manufacturing industry.
This voluntary scheme offers independent and robust verification ensuring that product information is clear, accurate, up-to-date, and unambiguous. This standardisation, combined with new digital specification tools such as NBS Chorus, offers product users the most accessible way to complete material selection and specification with confidence.
The importance of an independent industry standard verifying product information
The Building Safety Act is a starting point for substantial change in industry regulation and compliance, with further developments expected, including updated rules on product standards. As the Building Safety Regulator and National Regulator for Construction Products get established, CCPI is an effective way for the construction product manufacturing industry to demonstrate our shared commitment to building safety through greater clarity in construction product information and product claims.
CCPI is essential to both setting and maintaining the highest standards in construction product information – and through its independent and robust assessment and validation process is offering greater confidence to product users. The two-year verification CCPI offers applies to a specific product set, requiring manufacturers to show that product information is accurate, up-to-date, clear, accessible, and unambiguous.
Manufacturers voluntarily sign up for verification under the CCPI code, with a rigorous five-stage assessment and certification process. This requires manufacturers to undertake an organisational assessment looking at safety-related culture and leadership and demonstrate clear product information management systems. Once the organisation standards have been passed, there is a product-specific review, with evidence submitted for the eleven clauses that make up the CCPI code. This includes demonstrating clear information creation and update processes; providing proof of compliance, accreditation and product performance claims; offering accessible online guidance from installation to disposal, with transparent guarantees and warranties; and verifying that visible online technical helpline details are available and that there is training in product information conveyance.
Demonstrating Axter’s commitment to compliance and building safety standards
As a manufacturer and flat roof waterproofing company, Axter’s proactive engagement with CCPI is an expression of our ongoing drive to offer clients the highest assurances in product quality and operational integrity, and to support improved practices across the industry.
We help clients meet the highest standards in performance and compliance by providing clear information, support and training at all stages of the product lifecycle. This includes specification and design services, training through our accredited installers scheme, site visits from our Quality Assurance team throughout a project, and providing guarantees and maintenance advice upon completion. But this all begins with providing high-quality compliant systems and the most accurate and up-to-date product information for material selection and specification.
This new CCPI mark for Wilotekt-Plus provides independent verification of the product information we offer including accreditations. This includes confirming that Wilotekt-Plus is British Board of Agrément (BBA) certified, carries third-party certification in the form of an ETA, is accepted by all third party building warranty providers such as LABC and NHBC, and complies in full with The Building Regulations, including Fire Classification Broof(t4) and all relevant British and harmonised European standards. It is manufactured within an ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified management systems.
Digitalisation to deliver accessible information
Having access to this product information is key, when making design decisions, installing, using or maintaining products, especially in a shifting regulatory environment, with a renewed focus on building safety and responsibility. As the CCPI verification of Wilotekt-Plus demonstrates, Axter is committed to ensuring product information is both accurate and accessible. This includes in print and on our website of course. But as the industry shifts to digital design and specification, Axter believes the integration of digital platforms is key to revolutionising how product information is managed.
Platforms like National Building Specification (NBS) Source, CAWS and Uniclass, offer an accessible and collaborative environment where both manufacturers and specifiers have certainty that the product information used is accurate and current.
NBS Source, for example, provides a digital library of product information and facilitates document control – product information can be easily updated by manufacturers like Axter, and specifiers can be sure that they are always accessing the most up-to-date product data compiled in a standardised format for easy comparison with other products.
Source is complemented by NBS Chorus, which allows multiple users, including architects, designers, and other construction professionals, to collaborate on building design and specifications. It integrates with other software tools, such as Autodesk Revit, enabling users to combine their 3D models with specifications, and ensuring that project details, including product information, are consistent and accurate across all platforms.

Raising standards across the industry
Achieving CCPI verification for our Wilotekt Plus system demonstrates our commitment to reliability, safety, and compliance. As an industry, we have an opportunity to raise standards and improve building safety, by ensuring clients have up-to-date unambiguous product and system information.
Phillip Wilcox Moore, Managing Director at Axter, comments:
"We’re delighted that Wilotekt-Plus has become one of the first hot melt systems on the UK market to carry the CCPI mark.
