Axter’s Biosolar PV uses high performance power output modules with efficiency ratings greater than 19% in accordance with The Department for Education roof mounted Solar PV output specification.

A biosolar roof is an innovative system where two sustainable technologies, a living roof and solar PV, are combined to create a thriving ecosystem that also produces green energy.

The living roof ballasts the array, avoiding the need for any additional ballast.

The solar panels benefit from a cooler ambient temperature, due to the evapotranspiration effect of the living roof, reducing the urban heat island effect. This elevates the performance of the panels, enhancing their energy production.

The flora are carefully selected to be more shade tolerant. Not only do they shield the panels from excessive heat but also provide a habitat for local fauna, fostering biodiversity within the heart of an urban landscape.

The complete Biosolar PV system is engineered, designed, and supplied by Axter, and installed by an Axter accredited contractor specialising in roof mounted PV installations, to ensure compliance with our rigorous quality assurance procedures.

The installation process has been developed to ensure compatibility and eliminate damage to the roof waterproofing system. Biosolar systems include the installation of a durable rubber separation mat laid between the waterproof membrane and mounting frames. PV cabling is safely routed in raised cable trays mounted on protective supports that maintain drainage, don't encourage the build-up of roof debris, and protect the waterproof membrane from damage.

Amidst a competitive market, our Biosolar PV service has been established to deliver complete consumer confidence. The roof waterproofing system is guaranteed with a service life in excess of 30 years (BBA Certificate 15/5222 P2). The Axter Biosolar PV system is supplied with a comprehensive project specific design and construction portfolio, including 3D site model, generation/yield calculation, wind load calculation, technical drawings, system specifications and installation guides.

Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited panels suitable for UK grid connection and installed in conjunction with one of Axters BBA accredited waterproofing systems. Installed by an accredited contractor and eligible for Smart Export Grant (SEG) and Feed in Tarif (FIT).

The system will be compliant with all relevant GRO guidelines.
